Setting your Cornerstone default browser to Chrome, Firefox, or Edge

Petly Plans works best with Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, or Microsoft Edge. Follow this guide to check your current default browser in Cornerstone and update it if needed for the best experience.

Windows 7 is no longer supported. Microsoft ended support for Windows 7 in January 2020. If your practice is still running Windows 7, please contact your IT team to upgrade to Windows 10 or Windows 11.

Check your current default browser in Cornerstone
Verify which browser Cornerstone is using before making any changes

Log into Cornerstone

Sign in with your Cornerstone credentials.

Click the paw print

Click the paw print icon to launch your Petly Plans application and observe which browser opens.

Check the browser

If Google Chrome, Firefox, or Microsoft Edge opens, no changes are needed. If a different browser opens, follow the steps in Section B below to update your default browser.

Follow the steps for your Windows version
Windows 10
Quick access: Press Win and type Default app settings

Open Default app settings

Click the Start button and type Default app settings in the search bar.

Select from search results

Click Default app settings from the search results.

Change the web browser

Under Web browser, click the currently selected browser and choose Google Chrome, Firefox, or Microsoft Edge.

Windows 11
Quick access: Press Win and type Default apps

Open Default apps

Click the Start button, type Default apps, and select it from the results.

Search for your preferred browser

In the Search apps field, type Google Chrome, Firefox, or Microsoft Edge and select it.

Set as default

Click Set default to make it the default browser for all applicable file types and links.

If Edge opens by default
Note: Edge is set as the Windows default browser on most new PCs.

Open Edge settings

In Microsoft Edge, click the ··· menu in the top-right and select Settings.

Go to Default browser

In the left sidebar, click Default browser.

Change default in Windows settings

Click Make default if switching to Edge, or use the Windows steps in the left columns to switch to Chrome or Firefox instead.

Verify the change: Return to Cornerstone, click the paw print icon again, and confirm that your preferred browser now opens.
