How to mark a payment paid outside the Petly Plans application

Use this guide to change the status of a payment to Paid when it will not be collected through the Petly Plans application — for example, when a client pays with cash or Care Credit.

AdministratorManagerWithin 30 days of external payment being collected

A cash payment is collected outside of Petly Plans.

Care Credit or another external payment method is used.

Resulting payment statuses

Once a payment is marked paid externally, the following statuses will be applied:

Payment status: PaidTransaction: Settled (external)

No duplicate processing

A payment marked as paid externally will not be automatically processed again on the actual payment due date. The application already indicates it has been paid.

Complete within 30 days of the external payment being collected
Locate the payment

Find the plan

Search for and select the plan for which to update the payment status.

Open the Payments tab

Click the Payments tab within the Client Summary page.

Mark as paid externally

Click Mark as Paid Externally next to the applicable payment.

Confirm payment details and save

Adjust the payment date if needed

If necessary, in the Payment Date field type a different date on which the payment was collected, or select a date from the calendar.

Save changes

Click Save Changes to update the payment status.

What happens next: The payment status will update to Paid and the transaction status will show as Settled (external). The payment will not be reprocessed automatically on its original due date.
