Invoicing Petly Plans in Cornerstone

This guide covers the steps to invoice Petly Plans members in Cornerstone, including verifying plan status, applying wellness plan discounts, and handling non-plan items on an invoice.

Verify plan status in Cornerstone
Confirm the pet has an active plan before invoicing

Check the plan status paw print

When invoicing a Petly Plans member in Cornerstone, verify the pet owner has an active plan by reviewing the plan status paw print on the Patient Clipboard.

Refresh if status is not current

If enrollment occurred recently on the Petly Plans website and the plan status is not reflecting accurately, right-click the paw print icon and select Refresh to update the plan status.

View plan details

Click the Active Plan text to view plan details, including:

Plan start and end date
Non-plan item discount
Items included in the plan
Price of each item
Remaining quantities
Note:Make note of theNon-Plan Discountfor any items on the invoice not covered by the plan — you will need this in Section C.

Invoice wellness plan items
Apply the paw print discount to plan-covered items

Open the invoice

From the Patient Clipboard, right-click and select Invoice to open the invoice screen.

Enter wellness plan items

Enter the applicable Wellness Plan (WP) items on the invoice.

Click the Paw Print Discount button

Click the Paw Print Discount button. This verifies that the WP codes on the invoice are part of the plan and that the items are still available.

If no paw print appears in the Discount (Disc) column after clicking:The plan item has either been fully consumed and is no longer available, or the code does not match the type of plan in which the pet is enrolled.
How it works: Cornerstone automatically discounts Wellness Plan (WP) invoice items at 100%. The total amount due will only include non-plan items, with or without an applicable discount.

Apply a discount to non-plan items
For invoice items not covered by the wellness plan

Click the Discount button

For any items not included in the plan that are subject to a discount, click the Discount button on the invoice.

Select the Petly Plan Member discount

Select the appropriate Petly Plan Member discount from the list and click OK.

Confirm the discount

Cornerstone will display a confirmation box asking whether the discount should apply. Click Yes to confirm and apply the discount.

Review the total and post the invoice

View the total amount due in the Accounts Receivable window. Click Post to post the invoice and collect the remaining balance.

Reminder: The total due will only include non-plan items. Wellness Plan (WP) items are automatically discounted 100% by Cornerstone and will not appear in the amount owed.
