How to clear your browser cache

Updated 2026Applies to: Edge · Chrome · Firefox · Windows · macOSReading time: ~4 min

Clearing your browser cache removes stored files and data that can cause pages to load incorrectly, display outdated content, or behave unexpectedly. Follow the steps below for your browser and operating system.

Clearing your cache will not delete saved passwords or bookmarks. Only temporary site data and stored files are removed.

After clearing the cache, pages may load more slowly on the first visit as the browser rebuilds its stored data.

If you are troubleshooting a specific site, set the time range to All time to ensure all cached data for that site is cleared.

You will need to sign back in to websites if you choose to clear cookies along with the cache.
